It has been a vibe working with Habib Beye - Ghana and Stade Rennais defender Alidu Seidu

Ghana defender Alidu Seidu has praised new Rennes head coach Habib Beye for reinvigorating the team and restoring his confidence after a long injury layoff.

The 24-year-old right-back, who returned to action this season following months on the sidelines with an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, says Beye’s arrival has transformed the atmosphere at the French club.

“So far, it’s been a very good vibe. He came with big ambition, and the training is intense,” Seidu told Flashscore.

“For me, it’s a privilege to work with him because he’s experienced as a player and now he’s giving us that experience on the pitch.”

Beye, a former Marseille and Aston Villa defender, took charge of Rennes in January 2025 while Seidu was still in recovery. The Senegalese tactician has since earned praise for instilling discipline, energy, and a more dynamic approach to the team’s play.

Having made four appearances so far this season, Seidu believes Beye’s influence could help Rennes push for a place in Europe next season.

With the club currently 10th in the Ligue 1 standings on 10 points, Seidu remains focused on contributing to Rennes’ revival and completing his own comeback under Beye’s stewardship.
