Arab Cup: Abderrazak Hamdallah, Yunis Abdelhamid and Oussama Tannane headline Morocco A’ squad

Tarik Sektioui has unveiled a 28-man Morocco A’ squad featuring several high-profile inclusions as preparations intensify for the 2025 Arab Cup, scheduled from 1 to 18 December in Qatar.

The Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) released the list late on Saturday night ahead of two key warm-up matches — against Egypt on 9 October at the El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia and Kuwait on 14 October in Dubai.

The selection reflects Sektioui’s intention to blend experience and youth as he finalises his plans for the tournament.

Among the most notable names is veteran striker Abderrazak Hamdallah.

The 34-year-old Al-Shabab forward, capped 25 times for Morocco and scorer of seven international goals, returns to the fold for the first time since September 2023.

His inclusion signals a fresh opportunity for the prolific goalscorer to reassert himself on the international stage.

The squad also features players who have been absent from Walid Regragui’s senior side but now have a chance to prove their worth at the A’ level.

This includes goalkeeper Salaheddine Chihab, defenders Yunis Abdelhamid and Marwan Saadane, midfielder Walid El Karti, and attackers Achraf Bencharki, Walid Azarou, Amine Zouhzouh and Oussama Tannane.

However, contrary to recent speculation, Tarik Tissoudali does not feature in Sektioui’s list.

Sektioui has also rewarded those who impressed during the CHAN 2025, which Morocco won in August.

Tournament standouts such as Oussama Lamlioui — top scorer of the competition — and Mohamed Hrimat — voted best player — are included alongside Rachid Ghanimi, Mohamed Moufid, Mohamed Boulacsout, Marouane Louadni, Khalid Aït Ouarkhane, Anas Bach, Ayoub Khairi, Sabir Bougrine and Amine Souane.

CHAN 2020 winner Soufiane Bouftini also makes the cut.

Several players remain on the sidelines, including Mehdi Mchakhchekh, Bouchaib Arrassi, Abdelhak Assal, Youssef Belammari, Fouad Zahouani, Hossam Essadak, Reda Hajji, Anas El Mahraoui, Saifeddine Bouhra, Khalid Baba, Imad Riahi, Salaheddine Errahouli, Ayoub Mouloua and Youness El Kaabi.

Sektioui’s selection represents a carefully balanced mix of seasoned professionals and emerging talents.

With less than two months until the Arab Cup kicks off, the camp will provide a crucial opportunity to refine tactics and assess individual performances ahead of Morocco’s bid for regional glory.
