Ghana’s Henry Oware signs contract xtension with Lommel SK

Lommel SK have confirmed that Ghanaian defender Henry Oware has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the Belgian club until at least mid-2028.

The new deal also includes an option for an additional year, underlining the confidence the club has in the 21-year-old’s progress.

Oware joined Lommel in January 2024 from French side ESTAC Troyes, who had earlier secured his services from Ghanaian outfit WAFA SC.

Since arriving in Belgium, he has grown into a key figure, cementing his place in the starting lineup this season and earning praise for his composure and consistency.

The defender expressed delight at committing his future to the club.

“I feel very much at home at this club and I am therefore very happy to be able to extend my contract,” Oware said.

“In a year and a half I have already learned and played a lot here. I look forward to making even more minutes and continuing to develop myself together with the team!”

Sporting Director Jeffrey van As explained the decision: “Henry is a talented central defender who has fought his way into the starting lineup this season.

“Despite his young age, he has already gained a lot of experience at our club. We want to continue developing him in the coming years and look forward with great confidence and positivity to the future together with him at Lommel SK.”

For Lommel, the extension ensures stability in defence while offering Oware the chance to continue his development in a competitive European environment.
