It’s positive news for Togolese football as the Togolese Football Federation (FTF) has announced the commencement of the distribution of the first tranche of subsidies to Division 1 (D1) clubs. Each club is estimated to receive 5 million FCFA as part of this subsidy. Yvette Klussey, the Secretary General of the FTF, confirmed that some clubs have already collected their checks.
The FTF emphasizes that the second tranche of subsidies, primarily consisting of state aid, will be disbursed to the clubs at the beginning of the second phase of the championship. This step is expected to help ease tensions between the clubs and the FTF.
Furthermore, the FTF has taken additional measures by providing insurance coverage for clubs, including players, managers, technical staff, and match officials. This insurance coverage extends to various aspects, including travel and accommodation costs, as well as officials’ bonuses. These measures are aimed at promoting stability and support within the Togolese football community.
