PSG rival Liverpool and Real Madrid in race to sign Dayot Upamecano
French Ligue 1 side PSG have joined the race to sign French defender of Guinean-Bissau descent, Dayot Upamecano.
The Bayern Munich centre-back, whose contract runs until the summer of 2026, has drawn interest from several European giants due to uncertainty surrounding his future. The 26-year-old has already been linked with Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Manchester United, and PSG are now the latest club to show serious intent.
According to Bild football chief Christian Falk, the Ligue 1 champions have identified Upamecano as a potential reinforcement for their backline.
Bayern face a tricky situation regarding the defender’s contract. While the club are reluctant to meet his reported demands for a pay rise, allowing him to leave on a free transfer in 2026 would represent a significant loss.
PSG, Liverpool, and Real Madrid, on the other hand, continue to monitor the player’s contract situation at Bayern Munich and will look to pounce with a formal approach in the winter transfer window.
