The official website of Tout Puissant Mazembe (DR Congo) announced that a new coach will be introduced to the press and the public on Wednesday, in the presence of the club’s leaders. While the official statement did not disclose the name of the new coach, it is widely speculated to be Patrice Carteron, the current coach of the Eagles of Mali. Carteron was observed at the Kamalondo stadium alongside the TPM leadership on Sunday. Despite the strong indications, Moise Katumbi, the head of TPM, is keeping the information under wraps until the presentation event.
“The boss of TPM did not reveal the name of the technician; he reserves the first information for the supporters of the team who will travel this Wednesday to Kamalondo to follow the TP Mazembe – OC Muungano game,” stated the club’s website. Katumbi also ensured that all tickets for the match were bought back, a gesture aimed at pleasing the team’s supporters.
Patrice Carteron was in attendance at the CAF Cup match between Mazembe and Liga Muçulmana de la Mozambique on Sunday. The club has been without a coach since the dismissal of Senegalese coach Lamine Ndiaye.
