Manchester United close in on Senegalese teenager Mouhamed Dabo amid Barcelona interest
Manchester United are reportedly on the verge of securing the signature of highly-rated Senegalese youngster Mouhamed Dabo, despite interest from Spanish giants Barcelona.
The 17-year-old midfielder, currently contracted to Be Sport Academy in England, has attracted attention across Europe after impressing during a recent trial with Barça’s famed La Masia academy.
However, reports indicate Dabo has already trained with United’s first team, giving the Premier League club a clear advantage in their bid to tie him down to a permanent deal.
According to Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona continue to monitor the teenager’s progress, but United appear to be in pole position thanks to his links with the English-based academy.
The Red Devils are also said to have finalised an agreement for another promising talent, Colombian midfielder Cristian Orozco.
The 18-year-old has been identified by the club’s recruitment team as a player with the potential to break into the senior squad in the coming years, according to the Manchester Evening News.
