Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi confirms Geoffrey Kondogbia’s unavailability for Strasbourg clash

Central African Republic captain Geoffrey Kondogbia will not be available for Marseille when they take on Strasbourg in the French Ligue 1, manager Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed.

Kondogbia, who switched allegiance to represent Central African Republic in 2018 is currently carrying an injury, ruling him out for the much-anticipated clash slated for Friday, September 26, 2025.

The budding midfielder joins Junior Hamad Traoré as the two major absentees for the high-stake clash, days after their narrow victory over Paris Saint Germain.

“Apart from Kondogbia and Traoré, all the players in the squad will be available this Friday against Strasbourg,” said De Zerbi at the pre-match conference.

The 32-year-old midfielder has made two appearances in the French Ligue 1 for Marseille this campaign due to injury setbacks.

Since switching allegiance to Central African Republic, the midfielder has made just 13 appearances, scoring two goals across the period.

Kondogbia will be hoping to recover in time for the final round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers slated for October.
