Andres Iniesta believes both Lamine Yamal and Ousmane Dembele deserve Ballon d’Or prize

Barcelona legend, Andrés Iniesta, has made his pick on which player should win the 2025 Ballon d’Or.

According to him, Barcelona’s rising superstar Lamine Yamal and French forward Ousmane Dembele deserve this year’s most coveted individual accolade.

Speaking ahead of Monday’s gala, Iniesta praised the pair for their performances this season.

“Lamine and Dembélé are the ones who deserve the Ballon d’Or,” the former Barça captain told reporters.

Iniesta, despite his glittering career, never claimed the prize himself, largely due to the dominance of his former teammate Lionel Messi.

At this year’s ceremony, Iniesta will present the women’s Ballon d’Or, while Ronaldinho will take charge of handing out the men’s award.

According to reports, neither Yamal nor Dembélé has been informed of the winner ahead of the announcement.
