Al Ahly eye Argentine coach Ramon Diaz as replacement for Jose Riveiro
Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly are reportedly closing in on a new head coach following the dismissal of Jose Riveiro after just four games into the Egyptian Premier League season.
The Red Devils parted ways with the Spanish manager last month after a shaky start that saw the team secure only one win in their opening four league matches.
According to ESPN Brazil, Al Ahly have approached Argentine tactician Ramon Diaz with an offer to take over the reins.
Diaz is currently at the helm of Paraguayan club Olimpia, where he has been leading the team since the start of the campaign.
The report indicates that the Egyptian giants are now awaiting a response from Diaz and his son Emiliano, who serves as his assistant at Olimpia.
Diaz brings extensive managerial experience, having coached clubs across Argentina, England, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia. He also previously had a spell in Egypt with Al Ahly’s domestic rivals, Pyramids FC.
