Shikabala backs Zamalek to outshine Al Ahly with magic formula

Mahmoud Abdel-Razek Shikabala has never hidden his love for Zamalek, and once again the club legend has given fans reason to believe.

As the much-anticipated clash with Al Ahly approaches, Shikabala feels the Whites have the upper hand and the confidence to deliver a statement victory.

Zamalek will lock horns with their historic rival on September 29 in the ninth round of the Egyptian Premier League. For Shikabala, this is not just another fixture but a contest that carries its own weight, far beyond league standings.

In a Saturday television interview, he explained: “The summit match has nothing to do with Al Ahly or Zamalek’s current position in the league table. It’s a special tournament that the fans are eagerly awaiting.”

“Al-Ahly’s level is currently declining, but it can return at any time, and the league championship is still in its early stages,” he added.

Shikabala praised Zamalek’s showing against Al Masry but admitted there were weaknesses. The former Zamalek skipper ended with optimism, saying: “The magic solution currently for Zamalek is the Brazilian Juan Bezerra.”
