Napoli to file FIFA Complaint against Osimhen over training absence amid transfer saga

Victor Osimhen’s return to action has been delayed as the Galatasaray forward continues to recover from an ankle injury, keeping him out for at least two more weeks.

The news is a setback not only for the Turkish champions but also for fans who have been waiting to see the Nigerian striker back in full flow.

The Nigerian striker picked up the injury during a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda. Though he managed to walk off the pitch without support, the damage has proved more serious than expected. He has already missed two important games since returning from international duty.

Osimhen was unavailable for the Super Lig clash with Eyupspor and could not feature in Galatasaray’s 5-1 Champions League defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt. Turkish-Football reports confirm he will also sit out upcoming league fixtures against Konyaspor and Alanyaspor, leaving coach Okan Buruk to test the squad’s depth.

Galatasaray will hope to manage domestically, but Osimhen’s presence is seen as vital for their Champions League meeting with Liverpool on September 30, a match that could define their European hopes.
