The stage is set for history as the draw for the maiden FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup was held on Monday in Manila, Philippines.

Africa’s champions, Morocco, now know their opponents for the tournament, which runs from November 21 to December 7.

The Atlas Lionesses have been drawn in Group A alongside host nation Philippines, Argentina, and Poland — a pool widely regarded as one of the toughest in the competition.

The opening match is expected to pit the hosts against Morocco, a fixture that could set the early tone in Group A.

Full group draw:

  • Group A: Philippines, Poland, Morocco, Argentina
  • Group B: Spain, Thailand, Colombia, Canada
  • Group C: Portugal, Tanzania, Japan, New Zealand
  • Group D: Brazil, Iran, Italy, Panama

Morocco head into the tournament riding the momentum of their continental triumph earlier this year, but they face a stern test against heavyweights like Argentina and the extra pressure of meeting the host nation in front of a home crowd.

Beyond the competition itself, the 2025 edition will mark a landmark moment for the women’s game, providing a global platform for futsal and underscoring FIFA’s commitment to promoting women’s participation in sport.
