Olympique d’Asifi head coach Amine El Karma has promised supporters that the club will rise to the occasion in their maiden CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

The Moroccan side has been drawn against Nigerien outfit ASN Nigelec in the preliminary round.

The first leg is set for this weekend at the Stade Larbi Zaouli, with the return fixture scheduled for September 27 at the Stade Général Seyni Kountché.

Speaking ahead of the historic outing, El Karma expressed both pride and determination.

“We have to prove our strength in the Moroccan league before trying to play in the Confederation Cup,” he told Kooora.

“I was honoured to lead Olympique d’Asifi to a historic Throne Cup title last season.”

“The Confederation Cup bet means a lot to me, despite the difficulties that may stand in our way.”

The coach stressed that his squad has developed resilience and belief after last season’s achievements.

“We have gained a strong personality, and I have confidence in the players. I am certain that they will not let down the fans locally and in Africa,” he added.

Olympique d’Asifi began their 2025/26 Moroccan Professional League campaign with a 1-1 draw against Ittihad Touarga, as they now turn focus to their continental test.
