Mamelodi Sundowns honours Namibia star Peter Shalulile as he becomes PSL all-time topscorer
Mamelodi Sundowns have honoured Namibia international attacker Peter Shalulile after reaching a new milestone in the South African Premier League.
The 31-year-old has become the all-time topscorer in the South African top-flight following his strike against Stellenbosch. His goal secured victory for Sundowns, while the forward etched his name into the history books of the top-flight.
With 130 goals, the Namibia international is the highest scorer in the Premier League, surpassing South Africa legend Siyambonga Nomvete.
Before his outfit home game against Magesi, Mamelodi Sundowns honoured the experienced forward, presenting him a jersey emblazoned with the number 130, representing the total goals he has netted in the Premier League.
It is also important to note that Shalulile is the all-time topscorer in the Nedbank Cup competition and holds the records for the fastest goal in the MTN8 and fastest player to reach 100 PSL goals in 197 games.
Recently, Shalulile became Namibia’s all-time leading scorer, surpassing Rudolf Bester and raising his national team tally to 19 goals. In a World Cup qualifier against São Tomé and Príncipe, Shalulile netted a hat-trick, further cementing his status as the Brave Warriors’ all-time top marksman.
The forward has been in the books of Mamelodi Sundowns since 2020 and has since established himself as a key member of the team. This season, he has made three appearances in the top-flight, scoring two goals across the period.
