Manchester United players ‘happy’ with Andre Onana’s loan move to Trabzonspor – Reports

Players of Manchester United are reportedly happy with the loan move of Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana to Trabzonspor.

Onana, 29, joined the Turkish Super Lig side on a season-long loan deal on Thursday, after the September international break.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Onana’s departure was seen as a necessary step to avoid a goalkeeping overload at Old Trafford, following the recent arrival of Senne Lammens from Antwerp.

Sources indicate that the club encouraged the move, as retaining Onana would have left three goalkeepers competing for the number one spot.

For Andre Onana, the move to Trabzonspor presents a good opportunity to try to rediscover his confidence and form.

At Manchester United, nothing seemed to work for the former Ajax and Inter Milan man.

He was constantly criticised for many goalkeeping blunders, with recent backlash coming after Manchester United were knocked out of the EFL Cup by lower-division side Grimsby Town FC.
