Hussein El Shahat ready for fresh challenge with Libyan side Al Ittihad
Hussein El Shahat is set for a new chapter as the Al Ahly winger has given his approval to join Libyan side Al Ittihad.
The Egyptian international, who has found playing time limited in Cairo, has chosen to embrace the opportunity for regular football in the Libyan league.
Talks between Al Ahly and Al Ittihad have been ongoing, with both clubs keen to find common ground. A source confirmed that Al Ahly reached out to the Libyan Football Federation to ensure El Shahat’s stance was clear before moving forward. With his consent secured, the deal has moved closer to completion.
“El-Shahat agreed to move to the Libyan league due to his lack of opportunities to play for Al Ahly, given the presence of a large number of players in his position,” the source revealed.
A decisive meeting is planned between Al Ahly officials and Ismail Youssef, the manager of Al Ittihad, to finalize the details. If successful, it will mark a significant shift for El Shahat as he seeks a platform to showcase his talent again.
