Kaizer Chiefs announce signing of South African striker Khanyisa Mayo

South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs have completed the signing of attacker Khanyisa Mayo this window, bolstering their squad for the 2025/26 football campaign.

The Soweto giants has augmented their squad following an inconsistent performance that saw them finish out of the top eight in the Premier League last term.

Joining the team is South African international, Khanyisa, who plies his trade for CR Belouizdad. He is expected to play a huge role for the South African outfit this season.

Mayo penned a permanent deal to join the Soweto giants, who are keen on making a meaningful impact this time.

“Amakhosi Family, our new signing has a message for you. We are looking forward to welcoming him home soon. We just couldn’t wait to let you know that Khanyisa Mayo is Khosified!!! Welcome Khosi, we look forward to revealing that special jersey number….look out for the reveal coming soon” he said.

The attacker brings extensive experience from the South African Championship, having previously played for clubs including SuperSport United, Ubuntu, Royal Eagles, Richards Bay, and Cape Town City.

Mayo joined Belouizdad last summer from Cape Town City for a fee of €600,000. Since then, the South African forward has made 41 appearances, scoring 6 goals and providing 1 assist.

The 27-year-old has made seven appearances for the South African national team since making his debut for the club in 2022.
