Franco-Congolese defender Presnel Kimpembe omitted from PSG’s Champions League squad
France international of DR Congo descent Presnel Kimpembe has been omitted from Paris Saint Germain’s squad for the upcoming 2025/26 campaign.
Kimpembe has featured sparingly over the past two-and-a-half years, since suffering a severe Achilles tendon injury, which required two bouts of surgery.
He made his return earlier in 2025, however, he has failed to establish himself under Luis Enrique.
Since the commencement of the current season, the defender has yet to play a single minute for the reigning Champions League holders.
Kimpembe appears not to be in the plans of coach Luis Enrique, however, a departure from the club is envisaged.
Meanwhile, Qatar Sports Club have opened talks to sign Kimpembe before the closure of their window on September 16.
Looking to retain their Champions League title, Les Parisiens will face Atalanta, Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, Tottenham Hotspur, Athletic Club, Sporting CP, and Newcastle United.
