Chelsea’s Senegalese forward Nicolas Jackson faces uncertain future as Bayern Munich cools interest

Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson’s future remains uncertain after Bayern Munich dismissed speculation linking the Senegal international with a move to the Bundesliga champions.

The 23-year-old striker has been heavily linked with a summer exit from Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea seeking to offload players to balance their finances following a spending spree exceeding €350 million.

The London club is reportedly open to offers for Jackson, viewing his departure as a way to fund further transfer activity, including their pursuit of high-profile signings such as Xavi Simons.

Several Premier League clubs have expressed interest in the player, but Bayern Munich had been regarded as one of the most serious potential suitors.

However, speaking after Bayern’s emphatic 6-0 victory over RB Leipzig, sporting director Max Eberl firmly denied any plans to sign Jackson.

“Nicolas Jackson? He’s not a topic for us,” Eberl said in comments reported by journalist Christian Falk, effectively ruling out a move to Bavaria.

The Bundesliga side’s stance deals a blow to Jackson’s prospects of securing a switch to one of Europe’s elite clubs this summer.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are holding out for a transfer fee in the region of €80 million, hoping to recoup a significant sum for the forward, who has found himself on the fringes of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.

Despite a promising start to his Chelsea career, Jackson’s long-term future at the club has come under scrutiny as the Blues look to restructure their squad.

The Senegalese international, who joined Chelsea in 2023, has shown glimpses of his talent but has struggled for consistency in front of goal, prompting the club’s willingness to cash in.

With Bayern no longer in the running, attention will now turn to whether any Premier League side or other European clubs will meet Chelsea’s valuation.

The coming weeks are expected to be crucial in determining Jackson’s next move, as he weighs his options in what could be a pivotal moment for his career.

For now, Jackson remains a Chelsea player, but his future at Stamford Bridge appears increasingly unlikely, with the club’s transfer strategy centered on generating funds and trimming their bloated squad.
