Besiktas making final push to complete Wilfred Ndidi’s signing
Turkish Super Lig outfit Besiktas are close to sealing a deal with Leicester City to sign Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.
According to Transfer Insider Fabrizio Romano, the personal terms of the contract are almost finalised.
Besiktas, now managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, had their £8.3 million bid accepted by Leicester City, even though the midfielder’s £9 million release clause was activated following the Foxes’ relegation.
Ndidi, 28, played a key role for Leicester last season, making 30 appearances in the 2024/25 campaign, scoring once and contributing five assists.
He is expected to arrive in Istanbul soon to undergo a medical and sign a three-year contract, which includes an option for an additional year.
Besiktas appear to have won the race for Ndidi’s signature, beating off competition from Spanish side Real Betis and Turkish rivals Fenerbahçe.
The deal to sign Ndidi is expected to be completed by the close of this week.
