Ex-Ghana captain Andre Ayew leaves French side Le Havre AC

French Ligue 1 club Le Havre AC has officially announced the departure of Ghanaian international Andre Ayew.

The 35-year-old joined Le Havre in November 2023 on a free transfer following his exit from Nottingham Forest.

Ayew played a pivotal role in helping the club avoid relegation during his initial spell.

After his contract expired in the summer of 2024, Ayew returned briefly on a one-year deal signed on October 4, 2024. However, ahead of the 2025/26 season, Le Havre confirmed the veteran forward’s exit.

In a heartfelt statement, the club expressed their gratitude:

“Thank you, André. Monster of combativeness, André Ayew was an example for all heaven and navy, he who so well understood the HAC and its audience, Le Havre and its inhabitants. Good luck, André!”

During his time at Le Havre, Ayew made 49 appearances and scored nine goals.

Throughout his career, Ayew has represented nine different clubs, including FC Lorient, Arles-Avignon, Swansea City, West Ham United, Fenerbahçe, Al-Sadd, and Nottingham Forest.

Now a free agent, he is expected to seek a move to become part of his tenth club.
