Franco-Ivorian defender Kassoum Ouattara facing AS Monaco exit amid growing transfer interest

Kassoum Ouattara’s future at AS Monaco is hanging in the balance, with the young left-back attracting increasing interest from European clubs while struggling to make his mark in the principality.

Signed from Amiens in 2023, the 20-year-old has found playing opportunities scarce under head coach Adi Hütter.

His lack of game time, particularly during the second half of last season where he was barely used, suggests he is not part of the Austrian manager’s core plans heading into the new campaign.

Despite his current struggles, Ouattara remains highly rated across Europe.

Several clubs have expressed interest in securing his services, including Italian side Torino, Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven, German Bundesliga team Augsburg, as well as Scottish rivals Celtic and Rangers.

On the domestic front, Toulouse and Metz are also said to have initiated contact with his representatives.

AS Monaco, while open to parting ways with the Franco-Ivorian defender, are reportedly only considering a permanent transfer.

Ouattara, who still has three years left on his contract until June 2028, was signed for €2 million.

The club is keen to make a profit on the investment and is unlikely to sanction a loan or cut-price deal.

Valued at €7 million on Transfermarkt, Ouattara earns an estimated €400,000 annually — roughly 260 million FCFA.

With his profile continuing to rise despite limited top-flight exposure, Monaco’s valuation reflects both his potential and the growing demand for promising full-backs in the European market.

For the player himself, the priority is clear: finding a club that can offer him regular first-team football. With competition stiff at Monaco and his current role largely confined to the bench, a move away from the Stade Louis-II may prove vital for his development.

As the summer transfer window progresses, Ouattara and his camp are weighing their options carefully, knowing that his next step could be crucial in reigniting a career that has momentarily stalled.

With several clubs vying for his signature, a resolution is expected in the coming weeks as Monaco look to reshape their squad and the player seeks a platform to showcase his talent.
