Wydad Athletic Club head coach, Amin Benhachem, is urging the club’s hierarchy to secure two more signings before the new campaign kicks off.
Benhachem has reportedly asked club president Hicham Ait Mena to prioritize the acquisition of a right back and a left back to bolster the team’s defensive options.
His request is aimed at providing cover and competition for Mohamed Mofid — currently on national duty with Morocco’s local-based squad in Kenya — and Mohamed Bouchti.
The call for reinforcements comes in the wake of the club’s decision to part ways with Fahad Mofi.
The defender, who joined Wydad from the Croatian league during the winter transfer window, failed to meet expectations and has been released.
Benhachem emphasized the urgency of sealing the two deals ahead of the Moroccan league opener and the club’s CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
He cautioned that any further delay in strengthening the full-back positions could undermine Wydad’s competitiveness, especially after recent additions in both defense and attack.
