Young Ghanaian defender Felix Amofa impresses with FC Bayern’s World Squad during international training spell

Felix Amofa has spent the past three weeks training with German giants FC Bayern Munich as part of the club’s prestigious World Squad programme, gaining valuable international experience and showcasing his talent on a global stage.

The right-back was selected to join the initiative, which brings together standout U19 players from across the globe and provides them with elite-level coaching as they pursue their dream of becoming professional footballers.

Bayern’s World Squad project is renowned for offering promising talents the opportunity to train in Munich and compete in high-level friendlies under the guidance of experienced coaches.

Former Bayern Munich striker Roy Makaay led the squad as head coach and gave Amofa the opportunity to feature in all three of the team’s friendly fixtures.

The young Ghanaian defender played a key role as the World Squad finished the campaign unbeaten, recording a 3-0 win over Viktoria Plzen’s U19s, a 2-2 draw with Rapid Vienna’s youth team, and a 3-1 triumph against Bayern Munich’s own U19 side.

Amofa drew praise for his dynamic performances throughout the matches, particularly for his agility, intelligent movement, and attacking instinct from the right flank.

His creativity added an extra dimension to the team’s play and helped solidify their unbeaten run.

“Felix not only contributed to his team’s unbeaten finish, but also significantly enlivened the FC Bayern World Squad’s play with his agility and creativity,” the club said in a statement, commending the defender’s impact throughout the training programme.

His involvement with Bayern’s youth initiative represents a significant milestone in his development and reflects the growing reputation of his home club, which congratulated the player for his professionalism and composure on the international stage.

“We congratulate Felix on his successful performance on the international stage, with which he represented our club with dignity,” the statement concluded.

Amofa’s spell in Munich marks a promising step forward in his young career and signals the potential for greater opportunities ahead.

His experience with the World Squad not only provided valuable exposure but also served as a testament to his readiness to compete at the highest level.
