Queens Park Rangers have announced the acquisition of South African youngster Tylon Smith in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The fast-rising South African defender joins the English Championship club on a permanent deal following his remarkable performance at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, held in Egypt.
The talented defender played a pivotal role, helping the Amajitas to annex the title in the North African country.
His outstanding performance at the tournament caught the attention of several clubs, with QPR winning the race to sign the defender. Despite not making any appearance for Stellenbosch, Smith has secured a move abroad.
Despite not disclosing details of the contract, Smith is said to have penned a four-year deal with the club and will join the youth set up to continue his development.
The move marks his maiden European adventure heading into the 2025/26 football campaign.
