Cameroonian forward Bryan Mbeumo Calls Manchester United “The Biggest Club in the World” after summer move

Cameroonian forward Bryan Mbeumo Calls Manchester United “The Biggest Club in the World” after summer move

Bryan Mbeumo has spoken for the first time as a Manchester United player, describing his move to Old Trafford as the fulfilment of a lifelong dream and declaring the club “the biggest in the world.”

The Cameroonian international, who joined the Red Devils this summer from Brentford, gave his first official interview to the club’s in-house media, reflecting on the motivations behind his decision and his excitement about this next chapter in his career.

“From the very beginning, I wanted to join this huge club,” Mbeumo said, smiling as he took in the surroundings of Old Trafford. “Now that I’m here, I’m really happy.

For me, it’s the biggest club in the world. The fans are crazy, the stadium is incredible, and all the players want to play here.”

The 25-year-old forward, known for his pace, versatility, and sharp eye for goal, did not hide his admiration for the club.

Mbeumo revealed that his connection to Manchester United began at a young age, long before any professional ambitions had been realised.

“My first shirt was Manchester United, with Ronaldo on the back,” he said. “It’s a really big club and I’m really happy to be here.”

His move to Manchester United was strongly influenced by new head coach Rúben Amorim, whose footballing philosophy and leadership style made a significant impression on the Cameroonian.

Mbeumo believes that working under the Portuguese manager will be a decisive step forward in his career.

“He [Amorim] seems really close to his players,” Mbeumo added. “His mentality, his winning way of thinking every time, that’s what I need. I’ve always dreamed of playing at the highest level. Now that I’m here, I just want to show what I’m capable of.”

The former Brentford man arrives at United with Premier League experience and a reputation as one of the division’s most dynamic forwards.

At Brentford, he developed into a key attacking figure, contributing consistently with goals and assists across multiple campaigns.

His adaptability across the front line is expected to be an asset as Manchester United aim to bolster their attacking options.

Now under contract at Old Trafford until June 2025, Mbeumo is determined to make an immediate impact.

With a market valuation of €55 million according to Transfermarkt, expectations are high, and he will be looking to establish himself quickly in a squad filled with international talent.

Born in Avallon, France, and now a senior international for Cameroon, Mbeumo’s journey from Ligue 2 to the Premier League elite is a testament to his resilience and progression as a player. At United, he will be tasked with translating that development into performances at the very highest level of club football.

With pre-season underway and preparations for the new campaign intensifying, Mbeumo is focused on settling in and earning the trust of his new manager and teammates.

“This is a dream come true,” he concluded. “Now, it’s time to work hard and help the team achieve great things.”
