Ashraf Nasr, the president of Al Ahly Bank, has clarified that the transfer of Zamalek’s defender, Mohamed Abdelghani, to Al Ahly Bank during the current winter transfer window has not been officially confirmed.
Speaking to “Al Youm Al Sabi”, Nasr mentioned that he engaged with Zamalek officials to obtain the names of players available for departure in the ongoing winter transfers.
He emphasized that Zamalek authorities clarified that the final decision on player departures would be made after resolving the registration suspension issue.
Nasr stated that the only player whose departure from Zamalek has been tentatively agreed upon is Mohamed Abdelghani.
However, the formalization of the deal awaits the resolution of Zamalek’s registration suspension issue.
Post this resolution, serious negotiations will commence regarding a potential swap deal with the White Knights.
The Zamalek officials have been actively addressing the registration suspension and settling related matters, given the daily emergence of club dues causing registration halts.
The efforts exerted by Zamalek officials have already borne fruit, as they successfully resolved multiple crises related to registration suspension, including overdue payments, sponsorship rights, and fines.
Notable among these resolutions is the settlement of Ibrahima Ndaye’s sponsorship rights for the benefit of Wadi Degla Club and the partial payment of former coach Ferreira’s dues.
Further negotiations are scheduled to address the remaining financial commitments.
Additionally, Zamalek reached an agreement to settle the sponsorship rights with Sampson for Nigeria’s Lobi Stars FC.
Discussions with the Ghanaian player and his lawyer resulted in a two-part installment plan, which the player has accepted.
The first installment of the dues is expected to be disbursed soon.
Some matters related to the registration crisis remain pending for Zamalek, including the Sporting Lisbon’s stance on Shikabala’s fine and the outstanding issues with Sampson Akinnola’s deal with Venezuela’s Caracas FC.
