Borussia Dortmund are planning to hold contract extension talks with German forward of Nigerian descent Karim Adeyemi.
Sources have revealed that the club has scheduled the negotiations for January 2026.
The attacker’s current contract with Borussia Dortmund runs until 2027, and he is open to an extension.
However, Dortmund’s management is keen to avoid entering the final year of his contract, a scenario that could weaken their negotiating position or risk losing the player on a free transfer.
The 23-year-old has been with the Black and Yellows since the summer of 2022, and over the past three seasons, he has made 107 competitive appearances, netting 26 goals and registering 19 assists.
With the attacker’s contract entering its latter stages, his market value would likely drop significantly by the summer of 2026. Dortmund are hoping to avoid such a situation by locking in an extension well in advance.
If Adeyemi is not sold this summer, he will play a key role for Borussia Dortmund in the 2025/26 football season.
