Khor Fakkan secure signing of Cameroonian forward Junior Kameni

Khor Fakkan SC have confirmed the acquisition of Cameroonian forward Herman Junior Kameni, unveiling the 24-year-old on Saturday through an official statement on the club’s social media channels.

Kameni joins the Emirati Pro League side after a brief stint at Sharjah FC, where he had been playing since March 2025. Despite his short tenure at the club, the striker has opted for a new chapter while remaining in the United Arab Emirates.

His move to Khor Fakkan marks another stop in what has already been a well-travelled career across multiple countries and leagues. Prior to his time at Sharjah FC, Kameni featured for FK Kaysar Kyzylorda in Kazakhstan, where he spent the 2024–25 season until the start of January.

His performances in the Kazakhstan Premier League added to his growing reputation as a versatile and determined forward capable of adapting to different footballing environments.

The Douala-born attacker began attracting attention in North Africa during his time with Moroccan sides FUS Rabat and Union Touarga. His spells with both clubs offered him valuable exposure to top-tier competition in the region, laying a foundation for his future moves abroad. Kameni also had a short stay in Europe, turning out for Danish outfit Næstved Boldklub, which added further variety to his professional experience.

While Kameni’s goal-scoring record may not have propelled him into the global spotlight, his adaptability and persistence have made him a valuable asset for clubs seeking depth and energy in the final third.

According to Transfermarkt, his current market value stands at €175,000, a figure reflective of both his experience and potential upside as he continues to develop his career in the Gulf region.

Khor Fakkan’s decision to bring Kameni into the squad is seen as a strategic move as the club looks to strengthen its attacking options ahead of the new season. With the league becoming increasingly competitive, the arrival of a player familiar with both regional football and diverse playing styles could prove pivotal.

The club has yet to disclose specific terms of the contract, including its duration or financial details. However, sources close to the negotiation have indicated that Kameni’s move was completed smoothly, with all parties aligned in their desire to see the player take on a fresh challenge in a new environment.

Kameni’s arrival adds to the growing number of international players choosing to build their careers in the UAE Pro League. His journey—from local African clubs to European and Asian leagues—reflects a growing trend of footballers exploring emerging markets as platforms for growth, development, and exposure.

As Khor Fakkan prepare for the upcoming campaign, all eyes will be on how quickly Kameni can settle into the team and contribute to their offensive play.

With pre-season training already underway, the striker will be eager to impress the coaching staff and fans alike, as he aims to make an immediate impact at Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Stadium.

This latest signing underscores Khor Fakkan’s intent to bolster their squad depth and ambition, and for Kameni, it presents a new opportunity to prove his worth in one of the Middle East’s most watched football leagues.
