The roster for the seven men’s under-20 national teams representing Algeria in the upcoming CAN has been revealed this Sunday, with Nigeria, Egypt, and Ghana securing their spots.
Egypt earned their qualification with a 2-1 victory, overcoming Angola, which was held to a goalless draw in the first leg on its home turf. Nigeria, the defending champion, advanced after a 1-1 draw in the first leg against South Africa.
Ghana faced a tough challenge against Morocco, suffering a 3-1 defeat. However, their 4-1 triumph in the first leg secured their qualification.
The lineup for the 2013 U20 Africa Cup of Nations excludes teams from Southern Africa and East Africa. Representing the central region are Gabon and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), while teams from the north include Egypt and Algeria. The West African contingent features Nigeria, Benin, Mali, and Ghana. These eight teams will vie for the trophy in March.
