Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with West Ham United for the transfer of Ghana international Mohammed Kudus in a deal worth around £55 million.

The 24-year-old is expected to undergo a medical on Thursday before signing a six-year contract with the north London club, per The Athletic.

Kudus has emerged as a key target for Spurs, who have been searching for additional firepower in attack.

Tottenham’s initial £50 million bid was rejected, but both parties continued negotiations which have now led to a breakthrough.

The versatile forward, whose contract with West Ham runs until 2028, is understood to have prioritised a move to Tottenham over other interested clubs.

His release clause — £80 million for European clubs, £85 million for Premier League sides, and £120 million for Saudi teams — was only active during the first 10 days of July.

Kudus registered five goals and four assists in 35 Premier League appearances last season, slightly down from his debut campaign where he managed eight goals and nine assists. He joined West Ham from Ajax in the summer of 2023 for €41.5 million.

Tottenham have been busy in the transfer market, recently confirming the permanent signing of French forward Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich for a fee rising to €45 million.

Tel, 20, impressed during a loan spell in the second half of last season and has now committed to a six-year deal.

Spurs had also expressed interest in Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, with hopes of reuniting the Cameroonian winger with his former manager Thomas Frank.

However, Mbeumo is said to favour a move to Manchester United, who remain in talks with Brentford after seeing two bids rejected.

Kudus’ arrival is expected to bolster Tottenham’s attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
