Aston Villa have initiated discussions with Inter Milan regarding a potential transfer for central defender Yann Bisseck, as Unai Emery continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
Born in Cologne to Cameroonian parents, Bisseck is a Germany international who has steadily risen in stature since joining Inter Milan in 2023.
His dual heritage has drawn attention from both European and African football communities, but it is his commanding presence in defence that has made him a target for Villa.
The 24-year-old made 46 appearances in all competitions last season and became a regular feature in Simone Inzaghi’s plans, showcasing his aerial strength and composure on the ball.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Emery has been impressed with Bisseck’s performances and has personally urged Villa’s management to make a move.
Negotiations between the Premier League side and Inter Milan are said to be underway, with the Italian club demanding a fee of at least €35 million—five times the amount they paid Aarhus GF for him just last summer.
Bisseck, who captained Germany at youth levels, is reportedly open to the move and views the Premier League as the logical next step in his career trajectory.
“For Bisseck, a move to the Premier League would be the next big step in his career – assuming Villa is willing to meet Inter’s asking price,” a source close to the player indicated.
The potential transfer reflects Villa’s ambition as they prepare for domestic and European commitments.
Should the deal go through, Bisseck would become the latest high-profile addition under Emery, whose defensive structure has been key to the club’s recent resurgence.
The final outcome will depend on Villa’s willingness to meet Inter’s valuation and the player’s personal terms.
