FIFA Club World Cup: African players dominate Round of 16 Best XI

African players have dominated the FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16 Best XI.

Four African stars made it to the best 11 after helping their teams advance to the quarter-finals.

Hakimi, the Paris Saint-Germain right-back, played a key role by scoring in PSG’s commanding 4–0 victory over Inter Miami.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Bounou put on an outstanding display for Al Hilal, making more than ten crucial saves in a thrilling 4–3 extra-time win against Manchester City.

Serhou Guirassy scored a brace as Borussia Dortmund beat Monterrey to make it to the next round.

They are joined in the tournament’s best XI by Al Hilal’s Coulibaly, Chelsea’s Reece James, Palmeiras’ Thiago Silva, and PSG’s João Neves.

The midfield trio features Richard Ríos from Palmeiras, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, and Real Madrid’s Gonzalo García, while the frontline boasts Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane and Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy.

Hakimi’s PSG will come up against Bayern Munich, while Bounou and Kalidou Koulibaly’s Al Hilal will face Fluminense.

Guirassy will hope to continue his impressive goal-scoring form when Borussia Dortmund come up against Real Madrid.
