Serie A outfit Como have intensified their interest in AZ Alkmaar winger Jayden Addai with a second bid worth €12 million, according to multiple reports in Italy and the Netherlands.
Addai, who is of Ghanaian descent, has emerged as a top target for Como. The 19-year-old has steadily built a reputation as one of the Netherlands’ most promising young attacking talents.
Italian transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio first reported that Como submitted an initial €10 million offer for the player, which was swiftly rejected by AZ, who are eager to retain Addai.
Dutch outlet Voetbal International has since confirmed a follow-up bid of €12 million, as Como ramp up their pursuit.
Di Marzio also reports that the Serie A club is in parallel talks for Real Betis winger Jesus Rodriguez, though Addai appears to be the primary target.
Addai rose to prominence as a standout performer in AZ’s UEFA Youth League-winning campaign in 2023. He scored four goals and provided two assists in eight matches during the competition, helping the Dutch side clinch their first continental youth title.
Although his progress was disrupted by injuries last season, Addai still managed to feature for both the senior team and the Jong AZ side.
He played just 652 minutes for the first team, scoring three goals—two of which came in the KNVB Beker—and registering no assists.
However, his form with Jong AZ was more encouraging, netting seven times and adding three assists in 12 appearances in the Eerste Divisie.
Addai remains under contract at AZ until 2028 and is currently valued at €1.6 million by Flashscore. With Como showing serious intent, the ball is now in AZ’s court.
