Yoann Djidonou’s Return Cut Short by Ankle Injury
Beninese international Yoann Djidonou made his long-awaited return to competitive football last weekend with Romorantin (SOR) in a match against Ivry, following a six-month injury absence. However, the comeback was unfortunately cut short.
According to La Nouvelle République, Djidonou had to be substituted in the 24th minute after feeling pain in the same ankle that sidelined him last year. Although the substitution was reportedly made as a precaution, the situation raises concern.
Further medical tests are expected this week to assess the severity of the injury and determine how long the goalkeeper might be out again.
It’s a tough break for Djidonou, who was hoping to re-establish himself after a lengthy layoff.
