Wydad Athletic Club are set to part ways with centre back Abdelmounaïm Boutouil ahead of the 2025/25 season.

Wydad are currently competing at the ongoing 2025 FIFA Club World Cup but are on their out of the tournament after losing 4-1 against Juventus.

The club will play their final match of the tournament on Thursday against Al Ain before returning to Morocco for the off-season.

As part of their plans for the next season, Boutouil, who only joined Wydad from Sundowns at the start of the 2024/25 campaign is now expected to leave the side.

Boutouil signed a two-year deal upon joining the Botola Pro 1 side, with his contract set to expire in June 2026.

“We are awaiting the end of our third Club World Cup match,” a source has revealed.

“Upon our return to Morocco, we will meet with Boutouil and his agent to agree on an amicable termination.”

Wydad’s final group game of the Club World Cup has been scheduled to kick off at 19:00 GMT at the Audi Field.
