Ghana Premier League 2014-2015 Set to Kick Off on January 7
After months of delay, the 2014-2015 season of the First Capital Plus Premier League in Ghana is finally ready to begin. Initially scheduled for September, the league’s kick-off had been postponed due to a legal dispute involving King Faisal Football Club.
⚖️ Legal Dispute Delayed Start
King Faisal challenged their relegation to the second division following the previous season, taking their case to court. However, a ruling this week by a court in Accra dismissed their appeal, clearing the way for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to proceed.
📅 New Season Launch
With the legal obstacle removed, the GFA Congress is now scheduled for December 30, and the first matchday will officially take place on January 7, 2015.
🏆 Defending Champions
Asante Kotoko, one of Ghana’s most storied clubs, will begin the new season as the reigning champions of the league.
Ghanaian football fans can now look forward to a full season of top-tier domestic action after months of uncertainty.
