Marseille Depleted Ahead of Lorient Clash: Nkoulou Joins Ayew and Alessandrini on the Sidelines
Olympique de Marseille will be severely weakened for their Tuesday Ligue 1 clash against Lorient. After already ruling out André Ayew (right adductor) and Romain Alessandrini (ankle), OM must now cope without Nicolas Nkoulou, who is suffering from knee pain.
According to the club’s official website, the decision to rest the 24-year-old Cameroonian international (14 Ligue 1 appearances and 2 goals this season) was precautionary, especially considering the synthetic pitch at Le Moustoir, which puts extra strain on the joints.
With Nkoulou unavailable, Rod Fanni and Jérémy Morel—previously seen as rotation options—are now expected to start together in central defense for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
