Rahim Ayew Injured in Armed Robbery at His Home in Accra
Rahim Ayew, the elder brother of André and Jordan Ayew and son of Ghanaian legend Abedi Pelé, was the victim of a terrifying armed robbery on Wednesday in the East Legon neighborhood of Accra, Ghana.
The Asante Kotoko midfielder was attacked at his home by intruders armed with shotguns, who made off with several valuables. In the ordeal, Rahim was grazed in the arm by a bullet, narrowly escaping a more serious injury. He was quickly taken to the hospital and treated for the wound.
Rahim, who has earned six caps for Ghana, has previously played in Europe, including a stint with Lierse in Belgium. He is the eldest of the Ayew brothers, and the incident has sparked concern among the football community in Ghana, with many calling for better security measures to protect athletes and public figures.
