WAR BETWEEN FORMER OM PRESIDENTS: CHRISTOPHE BOUCHET TACKLES PAPE DIOUF!

The book “It’s much more than a game” by Pape Diouf has sparked reactions, with Christophe Bouchet, a predecessor of Diouf as the president of Olympique de Marseille (OM), sharing his thoughts. Bouchet, in an interview with France Football, addressed Diouf’s book, expressing a mix of sadness and incomprehension.

Bouchet questioned Diouf’s resentment and suggested that Diouf’s ego may have clouded his perception of reality. He raised concerns about Diouf forgetting certain realities and principles. Bouchet challenged the notion that Diouf was the perfect leader, citing instances during Diouf’s presidency where decisions and actions may not align with the image presented in the book.

Bouchet recalled events such as the inclusion of a figure with questionable credentials in the football industry and threats made to a coach during Diouf’s presidency. He also alluded to individuals benefiting from favorable conditions under Diouf’s leadership. Bouchet suggested that some of Diouf’s former colleagues would privately discuss how they secured raises by flattering Diouf’s ego.

In his message to Diouf, Bouchet advised him to reconsider his perspective and perhaps use his football knowledge to contribute positively, without assuming the role of a supreme judge. Bouchet concluded by expressing hope that Diouf could soften his bitterness and potentially share his insights with others.
