Avram Grant Poised to Become Ghana’s New Head Coach
Barring any last-minute developments, Avram Grant is set to become the new head coach of the Ghana national team, the Black Stars, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced via its official website.
The former Chelsea manager emerged as the preferred candidate ahead of Spaniard Juan Ignacio Martínez and Swiss coach Michel Pont following an evaluation process. However, the finalization of his appointment hinges on resolving a few contractual details, particularly surrounding his salary package.
Despite this, Grant’s agent has reassured the Ghanaian press that money is not a stumbling block, suggesting a deal is likely imminent.
Nevertheless, the GFA has made it clear that if negotiations with Grant fall through, Juan Ignacio Martínez remains the backup option to take charge of the Black Stars.
If appointed, Avram Grant will be tasked with preparing Ghana for upcoming international competitions, including the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, amid high expectations from both fans and football authorities.
