Antonio Conte has high hopes for Stephan El Shaarawy, seeing him as a player with great potential who could rise to the top if he chooses to. The Italy coach emphasized El Shaarawy’s talent but stressed that it’s ultimately up to the young striker to decide the level he wants to reach.
Conte said at a press conference in Milan:
“He has remarkable potential, he is young and he is in the phase where he truly becomes a footballer. It is up to him to decide whether he wants to become a great player or a normal player. He has all the characteristics to leave his mark in Italy and abroad. I believe in it and so does my friend Inzaghi.”
El Shaarawy, who impressed early in his career with Padova and AC Milan, has struggled recently to recapture that form. Now, the message is clear: the ball is in his court to prove whether he can become one of Italy’s standout talents.
