Michel Dussuyer Proud of Guinea’s Fight Against Ghana: “We Caused Them Problems”
After a 1-1 draw with Ghana on Saturday in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Guinea head coach Michel Dussuyer expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance. Facing a side with recent World Cup experience, Dussuyer highlighted Guinea’s ability to trouble the Black Stars.
“We watched Ghana play too much. But after half-time, we stepped up a gear, found depth and space, brought speed into the game, and created opportunities. In the end, I think we could have hoped for more,” he said. “We came back into the game. We caused problems for Ghana, which is not given to just anyone.”
Looking ahead to Wednesday’s return leg in Tamale, the French coach remained cautious but hopeful:
“We know this Ghana team will surely want to show a different side at home. We know that they are a quality team. So, we have to prepare well, recover, and above all, hope for good news. It will be difficult in the return match in Tamale.”
The Syli National currently sit just behind group leaders Ghana, while Togo and Uganda will also clash on Wednesday in Lomé, with Group E wide open heading into Matchday 4.
