Algeria Begin Preparations for October CAN Qualifiers
Algeria have kicked off preparations for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Malawi. After winning their first two matches in the Morocco 2015 qualifiers, the Fennecs are looking to maintain momentum.
French head coach Christian Gourcuff, who took charge of his first training session on Monday, has called up 26 players from the domestic Algerian league. The squad gathered at the Sidi Moussa national technical centre, where the first ball-focused training session took place late in the afternoon.
According to the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), further sessions are scheduled throughout the week, including another on Tuesday morning.
Algeria will face Malawi home and away in October, aiming to strengthen their position at the top of the group.
