English side Crystal Palace are keen on retaining the services of France striker of Congolese descent Jean-Philippe Mateta.

The Premier League club has already commenced contract extension negotiations with the forward and hopes to reach an agreement soon.

Jean-Philippe Mateta, 27, is currently under contract with Crystal Palace until the summer of 2026.

Mateta enjoyed an impressive campaign last term, scoring 14 goals in 37 Premier League appearances and playing a key role in the club’s historic FA Cup triumph.

The attacker’s contributions have not gone unnoticed, and Palace are keen to reward his efforts with a new deal.

In the last few weeks, reports have indicated that the forward could be heading out to another club this summer.

The ongoing contract extension negotiations are seen as a move to ward off other clubs while ensuring that the forward does not leave for free next year.

Jean-Philippe Mateta is reportedly happy at Crystal Palace and is open to extending his stay, although he has not ruled out a move to a bigger club should the chance present itself.
