Mustapha Yatabaré Remains at Guingamp but Eyes Ambitious Move Abroad
Malian striker Mustapha Yatabaré has decided to stay with French club Guingamp despite being close to sealing a transfer to Emirati side Al-Arabi. However, the forward remains open to a move elsewhere, aiming to take his career to a more ambitious level.
Speaking to RMC, Yatabaré addressed recent speculation linking him to Olympique Lyonnais, firmly denying any direct contact with the Ligue 1 outfit. “I have my exit slip but I need a good offer. My wish is to find a more ambitious club and why not try my luck abroad,” he said.
The 29-year-old striker, who has been an important figure for Guingamp, admitted that while he is currently a Guingamp player, he remains keen to explore opportunities beyond France.
Despite his desire for a fresh challenge, Yatabaré emphasised patience, stating that no concrete proposals have yet materialised. The forward is now waiting for the right offer that aligns with his ambitions.
Yatabaré’s situation underscores the ongoing transfer activity in Ligue 1, with many players looking for moves that can enhance their careers, either through exposure to higher-profile leagues or more competitive clubs.
