Bayern Munich have stepped up their efforts to keep Leroy Sane, making a new and improved contract offer to the winger as his current deal nears its end.
With just a month left before his contract expires, the German giants are pushing hard to secure his signature for the future.
Sporting director Max Eberl met with Sane’s agent, Pini Zahavi, on Wednesday to discuss terms, and according to Sky, Bayern have now increased the player’s basic salary. The club’s desire to retain the 29-year-old is being driven not only by Eberl but also by honorary president Uli Hoeneß, who sees Sane as a key part of Bayern’s plans.
The previous offer on the table included a base salary of around €10 million plus €5.5 million in bonuses. While the details of the revised package have not been made public, it’s clear that Bayern are serious about keeping Sane in Munich.
A final decision from the player is expected soon, but for now, his future remains uncertain.
