French Espoirs international Gaël Kakuta, of Congolese origin, expressed his desire to seek opportunities elsewhere due to limited playing time at Chelsea. The midfielder, aged 21, is looking for a move to a club where he can play regularly every weekend, as he no longer holds illusions about his prospects at Chelsea.
Kakuta stated, “I no longer have any illusions at Chelsea. Before, I believed in it. Not anymore. I hope to join a club like Vitesse next season, where I can play every weekend. Chelsea have way too many players. At my age, I need to play regularly, but if I go back there, I’ll only play ten minutes a month. That’s not what I want.”
Having arrived at Chelsea in 2009, Kakuta has undergone four loan spells, including stints at Fulham, Bolton, Dijon, and currently at Vitesse Arnhem. His contract with Chelsea runs until 2015.
