Yacine Adli faces permanent exclusion from Algerian national team following controversial remarks

Yacine Adli is heading back to AC Milan after a strong season in Florence, with Fiorentina opting not to make his stay permanent.

The French-Algerian midfielder, loaned out by Milan for the 2024/25 campaign, made a solid impact with five goals and seven assists in 35 appearances across all competitions. His performances earned praise, but the €10.5 million purchase clause will not be triggered.

Adli confirmed his exit in a heartfelt Instagram post, reflecting on a memorable spell in purple.

“Thank you to my teammates for welcoming me as one of their own, creating unforgettable moments. Thanks to directors Prade and Goretti, the medical team, and coach Palladino’s staff for their support, especially during my injury. To the fans, your love will stay with me forever,” Adli wrote.

Fiorentina signed him on loan for €2.5 million last August. While his stay was brief, his contributions were clear. Now, with his contract at Milan running until June 2026, the 24-year-old returns to a squad looking to strengthen its midfield options.
